i am nothing without my big, big dreams.
in 2012, i am going to be more. i am going to do more.
i am going to run a marathon. the full 26.2 miles. be upright and smiling at the end. [who wants to run the Wisconsin Marathon with me on May 5?] i need that 26.2 tattoo on my right calf, to match the 13.1 on my left calf.
i am going to run 1,200 miles. this? this seems impossible. but that’s what i said about 500. and who am i without ridiculous goals?
i am going to run a half marathon for Team Challenge WI to raise money for Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. i will not let this disease make more of my friend’s lives hard without doing something about it.
i am going to run the Hartman’s Creek 25K Trail Race on September 9.
i will run in 5 more states.
[i wasn't going to post this. i'm feeling selfish and withdrawn today. but who reads this, anyway?]
Good luck with your inspiring 2012 goals, grrl_geek, and your big, big dreams! (Reminds me of the BHAG: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Hairy_Audacious_Goal)
Thanks Bill! I think it’s going to be an awesome year!
I read your blog, Jes. And I know you will achieve these goals and more! Congrats on hitting 500 miles in a year!
:{>
Thank you so very much, Andy. You’re one of those people that keeps me going on the hard days. I appreciate it.
Good set of goals.
As far as bumping up the number of miles run and training for a marathph, do you plan on running every day still? You seem to run shorter distances, even though you run more often. You’re going need to average 3.29 miles a day.
Good luck, and hopefully I’ll meet you at SQLSaturday 118.
Also, if your ever in NYC you can run across the George Washington Bridge and cross off two states in one day, and I’ll buy you pizza afterwards.
Justin, I’m going to hold you to the offer of pizza! I’ll be out on the east coast a couple times this year, so it might happen!
I won’t run every day. It’s too hard on my knee and my brain. For marathon training, I’ll run five days a week, cross-train one, and rest one. If I stick to my training plan, that will be about 440 miles alone, by May.
Um. *I* read this.
You go girl! I am going to put my 26.2 stickers (I’m to chicken out for tatto) on my laptop hopefully next week!
Dream big. Love more. Reach farther.
You have so much potential
Jess,
I read it, I always read it, I love your honesty and perspective of life.
Keeping running and keep inspiring!
